Tiara Swap

I am so excited to show you all my latest creation!
Miss Holly Doodle had a Tiara/ Crown swap...
for those of you whom don't know what a swap is.....
get out of the dark ages!
Just kidding...

but seriously you are truely missing out!!!
Get with it!!!!
A swap is the next best thing to hmmmm... kitty whiskers!
Anyways, a swap is hosted by someone... any brave soul!
The host comes up with a great idea for a swap..
she collects names of those willing to join the "FUN"
You are given a partner to create something for
and to swap your creations!

This my friends is what I created for my dear partner Heidi....
Heidi and I both agreed we wanted a TIARA instead of a CROWN
A crown is more for a queen Mother!
We are both not old enough for that yet! {te-hee}
We are still PRINCESS' in training!
Ok Doll get to the pictures...
I know I know... I tend to babble!

On with the show

This first picture shows what the base of this Tiara is made from...
anaglyptic wallpaper! {thick texture that looks like tin ceiling}
I have some scraps from our old house so
I thought this would be a great sturdy base!

Ok I did PINK because...
WE ALL LOOOVE PINK!!!!!
Accented with rhinestones, and more rhinestones
buttons, buttons, buttons,
glitter...

OH there is lots of glitter!
Can you see the delicate Lace around the bottom....

Oh and every PRINCESS needs a wand......
Don't you agree!
So I created a wand to match Heidis' Tiara!
Don't you love it????
complete with lots of ribbons and glitter
and rhinestones and more glitter!

Heidi......says she looooves her Tiara and feels like a PRINCESS!

Garden Goodies

I knew I had to join the FUN...

My Sweet partner was Rosemary...

After talking with Rosemary a few times I was even more excited

I joined this swap....
You see Rosemary and I have the same likes!

Look at all the goodies Rosemary sent me....

She painted a cherry sign for my garden... how cool is that??
I love it!

And this sweet canary yellow glittery bird strutting his gold crown is just heavenly!

Rosemary found the best cherry goodies for me too!

I can't wait to play with the Cherry stamp, note cards, buttons!

And those jadiete knobs OH LA LA!!!!!

To keep with the Garden theme Rosemary also included... flower seeds...

Mmmm Mmmm GOOD

I was visiting with Tina the other day,
she was showing a cute vintage bowl she scooped up at Canton!
I love that bowl Tina!!!
Tina being the sweety that she is....
Could'nt leave the bowl sit empty for too long!
She made this Lorna Doone spoon puddin

Not only did her pictures get my attention...
the ingredients were all of my favorite things!
I made this the same evening!
**YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY**
chocolate puddin.... shortbread cookies.... banana... and whipped cream!
Everything tastes better with whipped cream on top!
{It has to be the X-tra creamy cool whip in my house!}

Oh So YUMMY shortbread cookie crust

Cookie crust, Chocolate pudding with bananas on top

Is your mouth watering???
The finished product...
YES it tastes as good as it looks!!!
Oh ladies you have to try this recipe... its easy to whip up
*AND OH SO YUUMY*

LORNA DOONE SPOON PUDDING
1 3/4 cups cold milk
1 pkg. (4-serving size) Jello Chocolate Flavor Instant Pudding & Pie Filling
24 Lorna Doone Shortbread Cookies
1 large banana, sliced
2 cups thawed Cool Whip
Pour milk into large bowl. Add pudding mix. Beat with wire whisk 2 minutes or until well blended. Let stand 5 minutes. Arrange 1/2 of the cookies on bottom and sides of the 1-1/2 quart serving bowl; cover with layers of 1/2 each of the pudding, bananas, and whipped topping. Repeat layers. Refrigerate at least 3 hours or until ready to serve. Makes 8 servings. ~~ENJOY~~

Love Birds

Hubby and I celebrated our 20th anniversary in May!

That's a milestone these days!

Just as it was love at first sight with hubby and I way back when...

it was love at first sight when I saw these sweet little birds!!!
I emailed Laurie at Charming Designs and asked her

to create a piece for hubby and I as a keepsake for our 20th!

On a warm, sun shiney day a box covered in

pretty handpainted roses arrived at our doorstep!

Hubby and I opened it together!

What a wonderful present....

LOVE BIRDS,

they are perfect in everyway!

~ After 20 something years together we are still LOVE BIRDS~

I was so excited when I spyed this cake stand at the resale store!

{I have a thing for cake stands}

When I got closer, I seen it had CHERRIES on it
I knew it had to come home with me!
It's very heavy glass.. and at $1.99 I feel like I stole it!

Oh so SWEET vintage CHERRY hat...

complete with millinery CHERRIES!
I bought this to display on my manniquin Veronica
but for now I have it displayed on a cake stand
in my CHERRY kitchen!

have been stareing at me begging me to eat just one!

So for today I am eating dessert first....

a big bowl layered with a shortcake, strawberries,whipped cream,

more strawberries and piled high with whipped cream!

Yep BEFORE dinner!

My Sis

A crazy patchwork pillow.... ohh la la

I want to introduce all my blogger friends to my sweet wonderful sis!
She is the best
and I am very proud of her!

Suzy and I are not biological siblings..
we are sisters in heart
and sisters in christ!

Suzy and I met about 3 years ago... on ebay of course!
She emailed me and asked if she could talk about

my handpainted cherry goodies on her auctions!
We have shared emails everyday since...
We know each other inside and out!
We have watched each others families grow
and have shared each other grandbabies too!
Suzy and I have been thru alot together
and I would'nt trade a second of it for anything in the world!

Sis creates pillows and sells them on ebay under the name Suedels....
these are not just any pillows....
they are the prettiest pillows one can imagine!

She searches yard sales, antique shops,
ebay and tag sales for vintage laces, and trims, vintage buttons,
tablecloths and such to use in creating one of a kind beautiful treasures!

I am the proud owner of several of her creations!
I treasure each and everyone of them...
she puts lots of love into each piece she creates!

It's raining, It's pouring.....

It's been raining for two days now....

{Shall we build an ark????}

Oh but no I am not complaining!
We need the rain...
the strawberries are forming their fruits...

rain means plump juicy berries!
The corn is planted and growing...
the trees, flowers, grass,

and wildlife all need the rain!

In our little town

down by the river

they have a walking path

that runs along the rivers edge!

Hubby and I went for a spontaneous

walk in the rain!
{no umbrella included}

Singing "rain drops keep falling on my head"...

It was fun!

The rain was gently falling,

we had the path to ourselves,

No one in sight,

not a care in the world!

We felt like kids again!
Splashing in the puddles

and putting our feet in the water!

Holding hands and walking in the rain......

I even got to search thru a patch of rocks

for a few heart shaped rocks!
~~That makes my heart sing~~

{I collect heart shaped rocks}

What a way to spend a rainy dreary afternoon!
