so I went shopping for some halloween goodies!

I normally don't decorate for halloween since the kids have all moved away!

But I thought it would be fun to have a few fun vintage looking pieces!

I really like the paper mache figures!

Now that I have a few fun pieces I am on the look out for more!!

Fall Fun....

Welcome to our porch!

Oh what fun we had decorating for your visit!

My lil helpers and I gathered pinecones and pretty leaves, funky berry branches and a fallen birds nest to add to our many pumkins and gourds!

We filled the lil wagon and scattered them around the washer.

{I eat fresh cherries only!}

4. I am the QUEEN magazine junkie!!!

5. My hubby is my bestest friend!

6. I am most happiest at home {in my comfort zone}

Whew.... We had a busy weekend!
We went downstate to celebrate our son and our youngest daughters' birthdays, with family and friends!
Our October babies!

It was fun and hectic as usual!

You see we try to visit as many family and friends as we can, get our bulk shopping done and I like to pop into my favorite antique shops and boutiques!

{A girl must get her shopping fix you know}

Yes I found lots of treasures ...

Best of all.....

we bought 2 of our most precious treasures back home with us!
Our two grandbabies have come to spend the week with us!

Coral is 3 and Lil Guy is 2!

Look at those "perfect angels"...

they slept the whole 3 hour ride here!

Hubby and I so enjoy them when they are here with us!
They get our complete attention 24 hours a day!
Naw they are not spoiled... we just treasure our time with them!
Plus they keep us young! :-)
The 4 of us are looking forward to a fun filled week!

My Plate over-flowith

I can't believe it's friday already!

Oh my goodness...

I ask myself

where did the week go?

I have been so gosh darn busy....

everyday seems to run into the next!

Plus we are both not sleeping at night!

Toss and turn... get up, lay back down, toss and turn...

walk around the house, lay back down, get frustrated....

My butts draggin...I feel like a zombie!

I guess I have too much on my plate right now!

I am re-doing the guest room!

Yes... plastering, sanding, washing, waxing, painting..

a total room make over!

I am excited....

I have been wanting to do this since we moved here!

YAY... no more boreing white walls!

Noooo I am not going to tell you what I am doing...

shhh.... my lips are sealed... its a secret!

you will have to wait for pictures!

te-hee.... I know I am a brat!

Plus I am doing some halloween crafts,

making a few gifts for the birthdays we celebrate this month,

still working on getting the yard closed for winter!

EEEEuuuu did I say winter... YUCK!

Theres alot more going on in my life but I won't bore you with that stuff!

Treats for my sweety

Hubby went hunting this evening so I thought I'd make him a treat.
Look at what was waiting on the table for him when he got home!

MMMmmmm... yummy yummy cookies

The house was filled with the aroma of cinnamon and pumpkin!
I found the recipe at Home is where your heart is!
Stop by and say Hi to Monica and join her christmas ornament swap!

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies :
2 Cups flour
1 cup quick or old fashion oats,uncooked
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter /margarine, softened
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar

1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup Libbys Solid Pack Pumpkin
1 cup semi sweet chocolate morsels
preheat oven to 350.

Combine flour ,oats,baking soda,cinnamon,and salt.
Cream butter,gradually add sugars beating until light and fluffy.
Add egg and vanilla ,

mix well.
Alternate additions of dry ingredients and pumpkin ,mixing well after each addition.
Stir in morsels , drop by rounded spoonfuls onto lightly greased cookie sheet.
Bake 20-25 minutes,until cookies are firm and lightly browned.
Remove from sheets and cool on rack.

I am so sorry for the quished sentences...my blog has a mind of its own!

Jinxed ???

Just wondering if you believe in being Jinxed?
Is there such a thing?

I had the strangest, saddest thing happen to me...
a few days ago our friends came by and she saw Lola
{our chicken girl} and Goose, Miss Goosey, wandering about the yard...
as they do everyday!
She asked if I was worried about them being attacked by another animal...
hubby and I both said no they are fine.
You see Layla, Lola and Miss Goosey have wandered our yard
for 3 years now and have never been bothered by anything!
This morning hubby opened the coop gate so the girls can wander...
as he does everyday!
A few hours later he came back from town and asked me if Lola was ok!
I was alittle alarmed by the tone of his voice!
I looked outside, there were lots of feathers all over the walkway....
I knew instantly something was wrong!
We called her name, searched and searched
and found Lolas' body under the porch!
She had been attacked and killed by something!
I am so sad...
Lola has been part of our family for 7 years now!
She was a spoiled chicken.. seriously she thought she was human,
Hmmm maybe she was reincarnated!

God rest your soul sweet Lola...
you have brought our family much love and joy in your short life on earth!
You will be missed sweet angel!

Our parakeet Kiwi thought she was a chick too! :-)

After the week I have had I need more smiles!!!

:-) These 3 are always into mischief :-)

I have been really wanting to post more often...and I did do good a week ago but this week is another story! Our daughter and her family ~whom have been staying with us since february

are moving into their new home this week

{they decided to rent for a year before they build or buy to make sure they like country living}

It is or will be a cute home once we get past the dirt n filth!

I am just so amazed at how some people live....

We have been scrapeing and scrubbing for a week now and are not near being finished!

The windows look like they have not been cleaned in years...

cobwebs in every corner,

the stove and fridge have not been cleaned behind in ages,

the floor tiles are black....

the sink was rusty brown...

I scrubbed so much I think I scrubbed the finish off of it because now it is white!

Hubby says it does'nt surprise him how dirty and distroyed the house is "because it is a rental!"

GRRRR...... I want to scream

Ok people I don't care who you are..

what or where you came from

there is no excuse for living like a pig!

It does not take money to keep your house clean!

SOAP AND WATER IS FREE!!!!!!

It does'nt matter that you do not own this house..

it is your home, where you live, and raise your children....

It is a reflection of who you are!

I hate when people say "it is just a rental".... bah humbug!

It is the place that you call home...

love and respect it and it will show!

I have rented in my younger days and have always treated the house as if it were my own....

I painted, wallpapered, installed carpet and planted flowers, kept the windows cleaned and the lawn perfect!

There is just no excuse for the mess we are haveing to clean up!

I am sorry for going off like this....

This really ticks me off!

Lets move onto better things...

Fall is in the air....

The nights are colder and the leaves are changing colors!

I am not ready for fall and then winter

but I guess mother nature says ~~ready or not here they come!

She loves sunflowers,

One day she & friends were out for a drive and they spyed this huge field of sunflowers.

They spent a few hours just taking pictures and running thru the field!

I love this picture of her!

I have been loafing around with an ear ache since friday

and now swollen tonsils!

My friend suggested one of his home remedies for an earache!

I tried it and it worked for me!

You put a lil bit of pepper in a cotton ball...roll it up and stuff it in your ear!

I kept it in over night and this morning my ear feels much better!

Now what to do for swollen tonsils?

Any home remedies??????
