Happy PINK Saturday

Thank you for coming by to visit on this beautiful PINK saturday!
This week I have been cleaning and foo fooing the princess suite!
{it's our guest room}
We call it the princess suite because I want my mum, daughters, granddaughters and girl friends to feel like a princess when they come to stay!
Come on in and take a look around!
{it is not quite finished but you get the idea}

I want to re-do that lamp shade...... when I find the right fabric!

I painted that rose trellis plate many many years ago!

This sign was purchased from one of my favorite sign painters on ebay!

I bought these scrolly metal thingys for the windows! I thought they'd be cute but I am not sure.... still not happy with them!

I painted the twin beds and added the chenille spreads
but I really want to go to Home goods to find pink quilts!

{can you tell I love Besse Peases' art}

Are'nt these the sweetest lil baby shoes? I love them
An antique boutique find!
We all agree ...... A girl can never have too many pillows .... Right?
Most of mine came from my wonderful sister Suzy....
she takes such pride in her work and her sewing is beyond perfect!

Want to get a pillow or two for your self?

Click here to visit her boutique and see what she has
or ask her to create a pillow that will make your heart melt!

I have this pet peeve about putting furniture in front of windows... it drives me nutso!
In this room I had no choice.
I pulled the curtains back...
I love the windows uncovered even in the winter,

hung a vintage lace tablecloth on a rod on the bottom half of the window...
I haven't been outside to see what it looks like from out there yet!
but I need some suggestions ladies!
I trust your judgment and would love to hear your ideas!

What do I do to not see the back of the headboard from outside
but not block the whole window!

HELP!!!!! :-)

I hope you enjoyed your visit..... if you need to see more PINK read my previous posts...
I think I have been on a PINK roll lately!

Also visit Beverly at how sweet the sound for more gals showing their PINK!
Click here to sign up for my give away!

Aaaaah, Dolly, it is so nice to see a froufrou-y room in someone else's house, sweetpea! I love my pink rooms although some people raise their eyebrows at it but I think they're just jealous!! LOL But that is gorgeous. I have some vintage old shoes like that but they were MINE!! Yikes, I'm an old lady!!!!

I want to come stay...in that oh so pretty room. I love how girly it is~I love Besse's prints too and all the pillows! Looks like fun sleep overs ahead. Maybe you could place the head of the bed kitty-corner in that corner..I think that would look nice and give the bed a beautiful special place and have full view of the nice window too?! Good luck..
come say hi :D

What a wonderful room, Dolly!!!! So many fun and girly things to look at! Your rose trellis plate is so pretty! I'd want to stay in your room just for those pillows! Soooo pretty!

I'd keep those chenille spreads on the beds but fold a pink quilt a the foot. But then again- I love Pink and White *and* I love chenille!! It adds such nice texture to a room and is just such a nice childhood memory for me, too.

I'm like you as far as not covering up my windows! I want all the light I can get! I think the lace panel looks great on the lower half of the window.

I don't guess you can move the bed over so it's centered under the window? That would look better from the outside... What does the back of the head board look like? Could do something cute on the back of it?

That srcolly thing *is* cool but I think it would get more attention on the wall above a grouping of wall art. Listen to me playing decorator! Ha-ha!

It's all wonderful, Dolly and a room you can be proud of! ♥

Hi Dolly,
What a pretty guest room! I would love to have a room like that but my overnight guests are usually all men; my sons from out of province! The pink prettiness would never do in my home. But love it! Thanks for sharing and Happy Pink Saturday to you.

Blessings,
Sandi

Hello Dolly! I absolutely LOVE this room! Can I come and stay here? I'd be good.....promise.

Just look at some of the magazine lay-outs, honey. They have the headboard in front of the window all of the time!

Love the tablecloth in the window idea. Think I'll try that.

I've made another Parlor post for you to see.

You should paint roses on the lampshade... :)

The wee baby shoes are my very favorite. How special and sentimental. I would put pillows behind the headboard and maybe a cute stuffed kitty or bunny sitting in the pillows so that it looks as cozy from the outside as the inside. Add a flower box to your home on the outside...it'll charm the socks of the neighborhood and get them talking!

Such a beautiful little hide-away. I wouldn't change a thing! LOVE the way Ink sets the whole thing off -- BTW, I had two black cats and never thought of a name as cute as that!

Would painting the back of the headboard a dark color help?
