Look at me

I am jumping for joy at the thought of spending the day at the doctors office!
Oyyyyyyy.....
But I will look on the bright side.......

I get to spend the day with Miss Emma.
Emma and Namma sit in the waiting while momma sees the baby doctor.
We read books, sing ABCs and count our fingers....
And if we go shopping....
{see photo above}
we must try on every necklace and bracelet, then we try on every hat and sunglasses!
What are you doing today?
XOXO

Sweetness
{15 days to be exact}
Bad me..
There has been a lot going on all of the sudden in our lives...
Long story short...
I am having difficulties breathing so I had a stress test....
that went well...
Breathing test showed my lungs working at 90%.
My doctor wants me to have a heart catheterization so I am going to see a cardiologist for a second opinion!
{btw...my doctor is a 3 hour drive one way}
He sent me home and said "DO NOTHING"
That is not an easy thing for me... I have raking to do, flower beds to clean, a garden to plant, spring cleaning yadda yadda yadda and all I do is sit here thinking about all I have to do!
** PLUS **
Our oldest daughter is expecting in June and is having some difficulties so she is seeing her doctor twice a week.... once for an exam and once for a fetal stress test.
{her doctor is an hour and 1/2 drive}
Needless to say I am spending way too much time in waiting rooms and on the road!
My bum is sore from sitting too much! :-)
Below are some of my favorite pictures from our Easter weekend!
We had several egg hunts that weekend.....
I think that was their favorite thing to do.

Thank you all for the warm thoughts and wishes!
{you girls have no idea how much your comments mean to me}
XOXOXOXOX
This week flew by and Easter is right around the corner!
How will you be celebrating Easter?
My mum is excited about her annual Easter Egg hunt saturday
{I swear I think she enjoys it as much as the kids do},
Then Sunday after church we do dinner with hubbys' family.
With Easter fast approaching I
thought I'd share some of my Easter cuteness with you.

Let's start with a bunny tea party.
{don't you just love the Peter Rabbit tea set?}
Too cute
{the vintage bunny belonged to hubbys' dad}
I rescued it from their yard sale!

They are still my favorites to unwrap and display every year!
Their precious lil faces melt my heart!

Please send Chicken soup
Look at these sweet slippers... aren't they the cutest?
They were a gift from this sweet lady
achiness, headache, itchy throat, runny nose, eyes watering, sneezing!
Yes I look and feel like something the dog drug in.
{not a pretty sight}
If anyone needs me....I will be vegging out on the couch letting hubby pamper me!
Wearing my pretty cinderella slippers to keep my toes warm...
sipping hot tea and devouring all the magazines that I have not had a chance to read!
Warm hugz and Blessings dear friends,
XOXO
Dolly
P.S. Take a look in Danettes' etsy boutique...
she has the most georgeous knitted treasures!
Thank you Danette...you are the bestest! {wink}

A trip down memory lane
I thought it would be fun to take a walk down memory lane!
Won't you join me?
Remember when..... It took five minutes for the TV warm up?
Nearly everyone's Mom was at home when the kids got home from school? Nobody owned a purebred dog?
When a quarter was a decent allowance?
You'd reach into a muddy gutter for a penny?
Your Mom wore nylons that came in two pieces?
All your male teachers wore neckties and female teachers had their hair done up every day and wore high heels?
You got your windshield cleaned, oil checked, water checked, battery checked, and tire pressure checked and inflated to proper pressure and gas pumped (5 gallons for a dollar), without asking, all for free, every time?
And you didn't pay for air?
And, you got trading stamps to boot?
Laundry detergent had free glasses, dishes or towels hidden inside the box? It was considered a great privilege to be taken out to dinner at a real restaurant with your parents?
They threatened to keep kids back a grade if they failed. . . and they did? When a 57 Chevy was everyone's dream car...
{it still is my dream car}to cruise, peel out, lay rubber or watch submarine races, and people went steady?
No one ever asked where the car keys were because they were always in the car, in the ignition, and the doors were never locked?
Lying on your back in the grass with your friends, and saying things like, 'That cloud looks like a... '?
Playing baseball with no adults to help kids with the rules of the game?
Stuff from the store came without safety caps and hermetic seals because no one had yet tried to poison a perfect stranger?
When being sent to the principal's office was nothing compared to the fate that awaited you when you got home?
Do you remember Nancy Drew, the HardyBoys, Laurel and Hardy, Howdy Dewdy and the Peanut Gallery, the Lone Ranger,The Shadow, Roy and Dale, Trigger
as well as summers filled with bike rides, baseball games, Hula Hoops, bowling and visits to the pool, and eating Kool-Aid powder with sugar.. Candy cigarettes Wax Coke-shaped bottles with colored sugar water inside. Soda pop machines that dispensed glass bottles.
Coffee shops with table side jukeboxes.
Blackjack, Clove and Teaberry chewing gum.
Home milk delivery in glass bottles with cardboard stoppers.
Newsreels before the movie.
P.F. Fliers, hip huggers, bell bottoms,halter tops, blue mascara, blue eye shadow,
Telephone numbers with a word prefix...(Raymond 4-601). Party lines.. Peashooters.Hi-Fi's & 45 RPM records,78 RPM records!
{I still have most of mine} Green Stamps.
Decisions were made by going 'eeny-meeny-miney-moe'?
Mistakes were corrected by simply exclaiming, 'Do Over!'?
'Race issue' meant arguing about who ran the fastest?
Catching the fireflies could happily occupy an entire evening?
It wasn't odd to have two or three 'Best Friends'?
The worst thing you could catch from the opposite sex was 'cooties'?
Having a weapon in school meant being caught with a slingshot?
Saturday morning cartoons weren't 30-minute commercials for action figures?
'Oly-oly-oxen-free' made perfect sense?
Spinning around, getting dizzy, and falling down was cause for giggles?
The worst embarrassment was being picked last for a team?
War was a card game?
Baseball cards in the spokes transformed any bike into a motorcycle?
Taking drugs meant orange - flavored chewable aspirin?
Water balloons were the ultimate weapon?
{author unknown}
Wasn't that fun?
How much do you remember!
Have you guessed my age yet? :-)
Until next time
Hugz n Blessings,
Dolly

Shoppin with Gramma
For our granddaughter Corals' 5th birthday we planned a shopping spree and lunch day with Gramma and Pa.
Plans changed as Pas' mom was in the hospital so it was just Coral and I.
I told her I'd take her anywhere she wanted to go
She decided she wanted to go to Toys R Us
{its a huge toy store for those of you who don't know Toys r us}
since she had never been there!
They crowned her the birthday girl, gave her a balloon and announced her birthday on the loud speaker.
I told her she could buy anything she wanted in the whole store!.
We shopped and shopped.... every single isle of toys!
Looked at every toy and read every box!
After hours of looking she finally decided!
Then we went to Michaels for some crafting supplies and to Target for Valentines day presents!
Pa met us for dinner and told everyone in the restaurant is was Corals' birthday.....
She told me that "Pa embarrassed her".
I asked why and she said because he told people she doesn't even know that today was her birthday and she was soooo embarrassed!
We laughed.
I swear spending the day with Coral shopping and the conversations we had, was like spending the day with a 15 year old!
I had to keep reminding myself she was only 5 years old!
It was such a fun day and a day I hope she will remember!
Happy Birthday Princess!
Gramma and Pa love you very much!
Until next time,
Hugz and Blessings,
Dolly
{my birthday is the 27th... Do you think I will be sick of cake by then}
