He lights up my life....

We had friends downstate who were antique dealers,
They sold there home and moved to Florida!
A younger couple had bought their home and took down all the light fixtures
{they didn't want that "old junk" in their home}
They had a yard sale and had all the light fixtures marked $2.00 each!
I said ,before I even got close to them "I'll take them all!"
Everyone at the sale looked at me like I was nuts I had'nt even gotten close enough to look at them yet!!!!
I know a deal when I see one!

This is the before of just one of the light fixtures

This is the after...
hubby hung it in the "Princess suite" for me!

We have lived here for 6 years and I have been bugging him to hang all those vintage lights for me... finally one went up yesterday!
I have 3 more similar to this one and 6 chandeliers {yes 6}
I want one in every room! :-)

Have a blessed day
Hugz,
Dolly

I know some of you might gasp because I painted an antique fixture shame on me...
I spray painted it and painted the roses on because the brass was just too gaudy for that room!

The princess suite is just a few posts back if you want to see it!!!

Smiles,
Dolly

Oh Dolly you lucky girl. You found treasures for sure and it's a shame that younger people have no idea what they are giving up. Maybe one day they will look back on this and say "what did we do", but then again, probably not. You did great by painting them, that is gorgeous!!! Char

Wow! Score! I think the fixture looks much better painted but you just can't get that kind of detail in new fixtures. It's beautiful. Now have hubby put the rest up so we can see them:>)

Hi Dolly,
Its just lovely and so perfect. Did you paint the flowers, if so you did a wonderful job. It really looks pretty! I also love lights I have them hanging and on tables all over the house. I just can't help myself either. As a matter of fact I just bought two more the other day from a garage sale.
Enjoy your day,
