Rest in peace dear friend

My heart is breaking as my daughter and her friends
prepare to say good bye
to a good friend...

Chris is a real sweet heart!
His friends called him Harry Potter. {can you see the resemblance}
He was very intelligent and had a great sense of humor!
You will be missed Chris!

*************************************

The accident happened about 1:50 a.m. Friday in Isabella County's Vernon Township, according to Isabella County Sheriff Leo Mioduszewski.

Turpin was driving a 2006 Chrysler 300 at what the sheriff described as a "very high rate of speed" on North Isabella Road when he lost control of the car. Early reports were the vehicle was traveling at more than 100 mph.

Investigators say Turpin was driving north and went through the stop sign at Vernon Road. Turpin's car crossed the road, went through a ditch, went into a field and struck a corn planter, the sheriff said.

After hitting the piece of farm equipment, the Chrysler went airborne, hitting two trees off North Isabella Road in Vernon Township, he said.

The car flew for about 140 feet; while in the air, the Chrysler struck two trees and came to rest on the passenger side, Mioduszewski said.

Turpin was taken to Hurley by LifeNet Air Ambulance and died later Friday; Jackson was taken to CMCH by Mobile Medical Response Ambulance. Jackson was treated at the CMCH emergency room and released, according to a hospital spokesman.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident. Both Turpin and Jackson were wearing seat belts.

The accident remains under investigation, the sheriff said.

Turpin was an organ donor to the Gift of Life program, his family said. He is survived by his mother, Brenda Turpin , his father and stepmother, David and Michelle Turpin , a brother and two sisters.

Turpin had been scheduled to join the Army in January, according to his family.

Funeral services have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. John Boley and the Rev. Ronald Thompson co-officiating. Interment will follow in the Cemetery.

I hope and pray that all of Chris' family and friends are comforted
and held in Gods arms during this difficult time!
I pray that everyone comes to see just how fragile life is
and how short life is and can learn from this horrible tragedy!

PLEASE don't drink and drive and
DON'T drive with anyone who has been drinking

May you rest in peace dear sweet child of God.

Moms give your kids an extra hug today
and tell them just how much you love them!

Oh Dear... what a terrible tragedy.
Why do people continue to drink and drive?
When we are young we feel immortal and that's why teens take so many chances, until an accident as devastating as this occurs.
He is just like anyone else~remember taking chances long ago?
God Bless his young beautiful soul,Dolly.
I will pray for his family and all of you that will miss Chris.
I'm sorry your daughter had to experience such a heartbreak at such an early age.
In comfort~

Hi Dolly,
I am saddened to hear about this young man's life cut short because of drinking & driving. So tragic! Unfortunately, the young people think they are invincible and they are going to live forever. God bless that family and his friends who mourn his loss. Such a tragedy!
You are in my prayers!

Hi Dolly,
Thanks for visiting my blog today.
I'm so sorry for this tragedy. I have two teenage sons, so when I read something like this I shudder. Fortunately, my two drink protein milkshakes and not alcohol, but still it is always a worry when they drive. Life has it's unexpected moments and we all can only pray for our children's safety as long as they live.
Take care..

Such a shame. What a preventable death at such a young age. I can't even imagine the loss his family and parents are feeling.

Prayers are with the community that the lesson is learned. Such a high, beautiful, irreplaceable price to pay for an instant of bad jusdgement and neglect.

Hugs to your daughter and her friends. So sad.

Hi,

I just came across your blog and wanted to let you know that the story about the young man is very tragic and such a loss. I too lost someone special to a drunk driver. It's so sad, so preventable and happens all to often.

Blessings,
